Sorry, I've been so busy the past couple of days that I haven't had much of a chance to get on the computer!
Yesterday evening was the picnic in the park followed by the Christmas Tree Lighting, and thankfully the rain cleared off, which made for a really great outing. We had a lovely assortment of food, ranging from custard pull-apart scrolls, to egg and lettuce sandwiches; from pizza buns from the bakery to gingerbread cookies, and of course, the Harry Potter cake. They say all you need is good friends and good food to have a good time, and (after finding in each other in the maze that is Roma Street Parklands), that we certainly did.
Once it began to get darker, we made our way down to King George Square, and found a nice grassy spot, where we sat for a while. Because we were so high up, it was hard to see all the performances, and Santa, and all that, so after a while we got bored and decided to go and get some ice cream, then come back later. This turned out to be a fabulous decision, because just as we got down right near the tree, the countdown suddenly began, and we got to be really close to the tree for the turning on of the lights! It was perfect timing :)
